Ada waited. And waited. And then she waited more. She waited, secluded in a nook on the apartment hallway, by the stairs. It was dark, and had a useful shadow, cast by a window on the stairs behind. Night had fallen, in the city beyond, but in this dusty, old building, the sounds of urban nightlife sounded far away, dulled.
